Packing up to head back East...

What a whirlwind of a day! We spent the day packing and making list after list of things we need for tomorrow. My mom, Ryan & I are going back to Philadelphia for a visit! All my family and friends can't wait to meet the boys! So we're gearing up for what will be, I'm sure, an interesting day of travel. We're flying on Southwest on a direct flight from Oakland to Philadelphia. We are each carrying one of the babies on our laps during the flight.
To get to the plane we are taking the boys in their car seats and strollers (one double stroller and one single) plus all our checked luggage and carry on. Just the amount of things we need for the plane is daunting! I am being overly cautious "just in case" of things like delays, etc. So that means I have a bizillion diapers, wipes, toys---and BOTTLES!!! I scooped the powdered formula into the bottles (there are SOOOO many of them!!) and will buy some bottled water through security and just make the bottles up on the plane as we need them.
We're all going in with a good attitude for tomorrow and whatever happens, happens. Hopefully the boys will be good, not cry too much, and sleep a little (so we all can too!). I will have some very interesting stories tomorrow about our travel adventures with 3 month old triplet boys going across country!!!!

Music in the park...

Every Thursday night San Mateo has their summer concert series in the park. Ryan & I bundled the boys up last night, loaded up some blankets to sit on, some stuffed animals to play with, and some wine for us, and walked on over to the park. We met our friends Eddie, Katie & Taylor and the boys had a great time listening to the tunes and hanging out! With Ryan as their daddy, how could they not enjoy listening to some live music??

Danny bundled up...

Dylan bundled up...

Andrew bundled up...

One baby, two babies..wait! Where's Danny??

Here's Katie & Danny!!

In front of our house...

In case you can't find our house, just look for the bright blue porta-potty right out front! We always said we needed another bathroom....

Well, at least they come by to empty it too...Only the best for our guests!

Working away on our gas pipes

We will be soooo happy when this little project is all finished!!

The results of the poll are in.....

The boys had more shots today---they did great! (Better then me!)
I asked the nurse to weigh them so we could know their weights since we don't go back to the doctor's until the end of August...and here are the results:

Danny: 10lbs, 4oz
Drew: 11lbs, 5oz
Dylan: 13lbs, 13oz

Congrats to those of you who guess right on our little poll. He certainly FEELS a lot heavier then that!! I am just glad that the boys are growing and doing so well!

Construction on our street!

PG&E picked a GREAT (sarcastic) time to do some MAJOR construction around our neighborhood. They are replacing old copper gas pipes with plastic ones. We got a notice that they are doing our house this coming Wed. They need access to our garage, where our gas meter is. They turn off the gas (no stove, no hot water, no washer/dryer) at 7am that day and relight the pilot light by 7pm that night. But the worst is the jack-hammering. Today they were out doing our neighbor's house and it was BRUTAL. It was right outside our window. It was hot today but we were inside with all the boys with every door and window sealed tight to block out the sounds!! Next Wednesday should be very interesting when it's on OUR property.
These pics are from our front window. Look how CLOSE these guys are! Imagine the sounds!

Sleeping/Eating update...

Where are the instruction manuals for babies? Did they forget to give it to me in the hospital??? Well the "just let 'em sleep" at night method was not working. Babies were waking other babies up and everyone was hungry at random times and I think I was in that room every hour as someone was just waking up or just getting rocked to sleep. So then we decided to switch to go back to a good old fashion "Kim Schedule"--but this time do a 4 hour schedule instead of the 3 hour schedule we have been doing since the boys came home. We fed them on the 9's, 1's, and 5's. So we ended up going from 8 feedings a day down to 6 feedings in a 24 hour period. Sounds good in theory, right? Well, because we were cutting out 2 feedings, there was a lot of pressure to get everyone to eat their whole botles at every feeding to make the most of it. And the boys were pretty frantic during the day. We'd feed them at 9am and come 11:30ish they would start to get hungry (which is what they normally would do when we fed them at noon)....but this time they weren't getting fed until 1pm. That is a long stretch to be hungry/cranky!! So there were some LONG days on that 4 hour schedule. Therefore, we just switched AGAIN back to a 3 hour schedule during the day and are trying to stick to a 4 hour schedule at night. So we've added 1 more feeding back to 7 feedings a day, not 6 anymore, but not the 8 that we had started with. It seems to be working ok, especially during the day. The hard part is at night, with Dan. He doesn't seem to grasp the whole "4-hour" thing, and seems to be back on his old 3-hour schedule, so we end up waking up with him, changing and feeding him downstairs, and then praying he doesn't wake up when the others wake up for their feeding. So that's the latest, still a work in progress :)

We are now smiling!

The latest milestone the boys have reached is that they are smiling all the time now! It's so cute! They are such happy babies! At first it was only right in the morning when the first woke up, but now they are smiling at everything (refridgerators, overhead lights, blinds, etc) and everyone! They are also "talking" or cooing all the time too--well, mostly Andrew and Danny. They have a lot to say! I have tried and tried to capture ANY/ALL of the boys smiling and I think I have more deleted pictures then I did for the birth annoucements. My camera is just not fast enough to capture them! I did manage to get this cute one of Danny.

Andrew getting big!

Dylan getting big!

Dan getting big!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Last weekend was cousin Michelle's 20th birthday party and the boys were there to celebrate!
They got lots of hugs and kisses from all the Gamlens and their friends.
Here are the boys with Victoria, Michelle and Julia.
