How we spent our Saturday...

In the morning, we helped Daddy open his birthday presents. While he loved the presents, the boys LOVED the paper and other wrapping materials.

After their morning naps, I brought the boys down to the basement bathroom (which is carpeted) to sit in some steam. They all still have coughs and I thought this might make them feel a little better.
Here are the boys playing in the steamy bathroom!

Later in the afternoon (should have been after their afternoon naps, however Dylan & Drew decided not to take naps...more on that later...) I took the boys out for a wagon ride. It was a sunny day, but cold, so we still had to bundle up despite it being warm in the sun. The boys love playing "train" in their wagon.
Choo-Choo!!

Somehow on the walk, Drew managed to fall asleep in the wagon. I have no idea how, but he was OUT. It does not look comfortable at all, but he was fully reclined in the wagon. (Don't worry, I had my eye on him the entire time he was asleep so he couldn't fall out--plus I was only going 1 mile an hour) I think he enjoyed the sunshine!

But the big news of the day...Danny crawled forward! He has been going backwards the last 2 weeks and today he took a few tentative crawls forward. Yeah!! Go Danny! I think it will still be some time before he's zipping across the room like Andrew, but he's now on his way! Now for Dylan....

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Last night....

Preface: In case you weren't aware, our whole house has been sick this past week. It first started last weekend with colds--runny, runny noses of all 3 boys. Of course, after constantly wiping 3 noses all day for a few days, Ryan & I got sick too. With all 5 sick, it was a challenging week. Now the colds are turning into coughs.....

1:13am-I hear Andrew coughing loudly...I think it will stop, but he just keeps coughing...

1:25am-I think that maybe he just has a tickle in his throat and would like a little water. I get out of bed, pour a little glass of water, and take it into his room.....only to find that he was still asleep..but still coughing in his sleep.
*decision time*--Do I wake him up to give him a sip of water that he clearly needs to stop coughing, or do I just let him sleep, hoping that he'll stop coughing soon (even though it's been about 10 minutes of continuous coughing at this point...)?????
I decide to pick him up ever so gently, and give him some of the water. I reach in, pick my little man up, and give him some water. Interestingly enough, he pretty much stayed asleep---sipping some water and all! I put him back in his crib, he nestled into his blankets, and looked pretty much asleep!
I think I practically danced my way back into our room to high five Ryan, all the while thinking my "mommy-skills" and "mommy-instict" were stop on!! I was so excited he got his water AND stayed asleep! Wasn't I the best??!!!

1:45am-coughing starts again
I can't believe it! Didn't I just give him water?? Maybe it wasn't enough?? Maybe I should go in again and give him some more?
Still on my "mommy-high" I jump out of bed, promising Ryan "Don't worry, I'll be right back!" Couldn't have been more wrong....
I head back in, aiming to do the exact same thing as before....
I reach in, pick up Andrew, and ....he wakes right up...and I mean wide awake! Oh boy, did my plan backfire! Now here he is, drinking my water that I so wanted him to drink, but he is blabbing "dada" the whole time and I can't believe it!
But I think, "I am sure he'll go right back to sleep--it's pitch black in this room, and he must be tired!"

2am-I put him back in his crib and cover him up...all looks good. I'm feeling pretty good again!

2:05am-I am back in bed, all ready to sleep 3 more hours until Danny wakes up at 5 (our early bird)....

2:35am-Andrew starts crying...I can tell right away that he is standing up in his crib. I go back to his room to put him down. As I'm walking out, he stands up again.
And again. And again.
I can't even leave the room before he jumps on up again. I can't believe it. Doesn't he know what time it is????
This game of up/down went on until 3:42am. Yes, that long. When I finally crawled back into bed, that great feeling that I had a few hours ago when I first put him down asleep was long gone. I couldn't believe that Danny would be up in little more then an hour. Ahhh!!
I realized that I have gotten spoiled with these boys sleeping from 7pm-5am (Danny).
Last night reminded me of those nights in the beginning when we were up every 3 hours feeing the boys.
Hopefully tonight the boys will sleep a little better and I will have to think twice before I wake a sleeping, sick baby up to give him some water......

Andrew stands in his crib!

This morning I put Andrew up in his crib for his morning nap. Lately he has been crawling around in his crib but today he was crying really hard and I looked in...and saw him standing up in his crib! I put him back down and ran downstairs to tell Ryan...and get my camera. When he woke up from the nap, he stood up again and started screaming. At least I know when he is awake!

"How do I get down from here? HELP!"

When he woke up from his afternoon nap, he stood up and just bit on the railing, and was chit chatting with himself (much better mood then the morning!)
Looks like he is offically a crib stander! Now I'll have to teach him how to get down!

Easter brunch

We went to my parent's country club for Easter brunch. We met my parents, my brother Kevin & my Grandmom. The boys looked cute in their Easter outfits! We had a fun time and a great meal--unfortunately, the Easter Bunny was on "break" when we got there! Next year!

Our family! Happy first Easter boys!

Danny, Grandmother, Drew (look how big in the high-chair!), & Granddad

Uncle Kevin & Dylan (Daddy styled his hair again! So cute!)

We love Easter brunch! Yum!

Enjoying the sunshine on the deck

Happy Easter morning!

The boys celebrated Easter morning by playing/eating some Easter eggs! Happy Easter!

Don't turn your back on Andrew!

This morning we put Andrew on the rug to play with his toys as Ryan & I finished feeding Dylan & Danny their morning bottles. Next thing we know, we can't find him! But wait....there he was....UNDER the exersaucer!

Silly man, you play in it, not under it! But boy what a fun hiding spot!

Then later in the day we left the gate open into the foyer and he made a bee-line for the unchartered territory! Good thing we saw him the whole way...we are going to have to be careful now to make sure the gate is always shut!

"Look! I'm not in the playroom anymore!"

But the big news today was that while I was on the other side of the rug playing with Dylan & Danny, I looked over and Andrew had pulled himself up to play with his learning table! It was the first time that he pulled himself up to stand by himself!
The only problem is that he doesn't know how to get down....he sometimes just lets go and is not too steady on his own yet! Another thing to be careful about!

Easter Egg time!

Yesterday we dyed Easter Eggs as a family!

We love Easter!
Go Villanova! Beat Clemson! (sorry Jen!) The boys are ready to cheer (while they sleep!)

Week of visitors!

Gotta love having a fun holiday (St. Patty's Day!) on a Monday because it makes the week go so much faster! Then the rest of the week we had lots of visitors come over to see the boys.
On Tuesday Aunt Kathy, Christine & Austin came over to play. They came in and within minutes were down on the floor crawling all around with the boys.

Playing the piano! Our little musicans play a duet

On Thursday Michelle brought Maise (now 4 months old!) over. The boys were very good at sharing their play mat and showed Maise how to look up at the light-flashing ladybug (their favorite toy when they were Maise's age!)
Now that Andrew is a big boy, he wanted to check out what a little baby looks like!
"Hmm, she's pretty cute...a younger woman!"
