2-month old Doctor visit

Today the boys went to the doctor for their 2-month old check-up. It was the first time they were all on the same doctor's schedule, so needless to say we caused quite a scene walking into the waiting room with 3 babies in carseats. We were very anxious to hear how much they weighed and how long they were! I am with them all day and night but it's so hard to know how much they weigh, you can only guess. I was just hoping for a good report so that I knew that what I was doing was alright...(just looking for a little validation). I think that I am right on with my little 3 hour schedule, but I wanted to hear from an expert--and the news was so good!
As of today:
Danny- 8lbs,2oz, 20 inches
Drew- 9lbs,1.5oz, 21 inches
Dylan-10lbs,7oz, 22 inches

Isn't that amazing!!! We are so proud of how much they weigh! He said we are right on target with how often and how much we have been feeding them. Now we have the green light to go ahead and let them sleep a little longer at nights!! So I think we will feed at the 9pm, feed at the 12 midnight (waking them if necessary), then let them try to sleep after that for as long as possible. Most likely Dylan will sleep the longest because he is the biggest and eating the most. He said to try for a 4 hour stretch--then a 5 hour stretch. That would be AMAZING! We will still feed on a 3 hour schedule during the day however. Soon we'll be aiming for all 3 sleeping from midnight to 6am! Have a ways to go for that, but always thinking ahead!
The boys also got shots today, such a sad thing. They got Roto virus vaccine which they had to take orally, then they had 2 menengitis shots and 1 DPT and 1 polio. It was so sad to see them get these 4 shots in their little thighs! They cried and cried (times 3!) and the whole office must have wondered what was going on in our exam room! Now we have to wait to see if they get any fevers and see how cranky/iritable they get. We are expecting to be up most of the night, and obviously the doctor said not to start this new "sleep longer during the night" schedule for at least 2 days so they can stay on the same schedule they are used to right now. I know it was hard for them to get shots, but it was so hard for me to watch them get them too!

All three boys happy BEFORE their shots (especially Andrew who appears to be dancing!)

Sleeping better!!

I think we have finally got the boys to realize that there is a daytime and a nightime! Phew! It's making a huge difference! When the boys first came home from the hospital we kept a light on in the room because the NICU was so bright and loud, we figured we might as well simulate their environment they were used to. Well, we were finding ourselves feeding at 3am and having all 3 boys wide-eyed and ready to play. So over the last 2-3 weeks or so, I have changed the plan. Now starting at our 9pm feeding the lights are all out, and when we feed the boys we do not talk to them so the room is super quiet. It's working! We can now safely say that on most nights the boys sleep in between feedings!! We are still feeding every 3 hours, so that means that Ryan, my mom and I are now averaging about 5 hours of sleep a night! What a difference that makes!! Go boys!

Our new favorite toy--the swing!

We are LOVING our swings these days! For a while, the boys were too small for the swing and when we thought they were finally big enough--they didn't really like it at first. But now---the boys like it and we LOVE it! In fact, we loved our swing so much that we put another one upstairs in the nursery! It is so perfect for when the boys are awake and not crying.....and we need to get something done-like make more bottles! They enjoy sitting in the swings and rocking and have even begun falling asleep in them for naps. Also comes in handy when it's just me and my mom home during the day and we are outnumbered by babies! We can calm one of the boys by swinging while we each hold another one who is crying. It's so great to have the other one upstairs now so we do not have to keep running up and down stairs! Now we just need to buy stock in battery companies though, haha.
Here is Andrew rocking away downstairs!

Pictures that didn't make the birth annoucement....

Sorry that the blog hasn't been updated in a while! It seems in the past week I've had a baby in my arms at all times and haven't been able to get to the computer! I will DEFINITELY make up for it this week, so check back a lot. I will update the blog with lots of good pictures and we have a doctor's appt. too--can't wait to find out how much these guys weigh now!! (That's on Wed of this week.)

Here are a few pictures that didn't quite make the birth annoucements, ha ha.
