Making Easter treats

What do we end up doing when it's POURING rain for the last 2 days? Baking! I gathered up my 3 favorite little bakers and we set out on making some Easter treats.

First, we had to gather our materials. This included jelly beans, which the boys happily helped sort into different colors.

The boys' favorite part...making icing! They love using the electric mixer!







Here we are decorating the flowers...or just eating the jelly beans!

Then we "planted" them in their cups



And then we had to sample some...just to make sure they were good! Yum!

Birthday-Eve dinner

Tonight we celebrated Ryan's almost-birthday at my parent's house. My grandparents came over too and we had a nice afternoon playing around. The boys had a tea party with Mom-Mom, and even had an impromptu egg hunt in the living room. Ryan opened some presents and we all had a great dinner. The boys just love blowing out the candles--we had to re-light them many, many times! Thanks for a fun night Mom and Dad! Happy almost-birthday Ryan!

Danny's trip to the ER

As the boys were helping to do some laundry, the washer lid fell down on top of Danny's index finger. He quickly pulled it out as it hit and in the process, pulled off the top layer of skin from his fingernail to just below his knuckle. It was pretty bloody and didn't seem to stop with just pressure and a band aid. I took him to Abington ER to get it checked out. Thankfully it was not too busy on a Sunday morning, so we were only there for a little over an hour. I brought a big bag filled with lots of things to keep us occupied, since I wasn't sure how long we would be there. We ended up watching some videos on our portable DVD player and having a little snack. Everyone there was very nice but hopefully we won't have to be back there again any time soon! Danny was very brave and while they did not stitch him up, he has a big bandage to show off.

Breakfast at the new diner

A new diner just opened up near us and this morning we tried it out with the boys. They were SOOO good! We sat in a booth, which I think made a big difference, and it was very family friendly, which was very nice. They brought the boys crayons and a placemat to color on, and had kid cups with big straws and lids. They even made their pancakes into Mickey Mouse pancakes, which was obviously a huge hit! They all ate a good breakfast and Ryan and I even got a chance to eat ours! We will definitely be back!
