The hour between 5pm-6pm gets a little crazy around our house. The boys are usually starting to want more and more attention (and they very loudly let us know that!) and with just the two of us, it's a busy, hectic hour. We just bide our time until we take them upstairs to begin our nighttime routine--which starts with warm baths. We try to take them up at 6pm, but depending on their moods, sometimes we need to start a little early--around 5:45ish. So when at 5:40pm I went into the kitchen to get a rag for someone's drooly face (Danny!) I was surprised to find no water coming out of the faucet. After determining that we haven't even gotten our first water bill yet (so they couldn't have turned off our water!) Ryan called the company and found out there was a water main break in our neighborhood--and it would take hours before getting it back. Hmm. This is right as we are about to take the boys upstairs for their baths.......
So we took them upstairs anyway, got them undressed....and played with them while they were in their diapers a while. Then I poured the water from the glass I was drinking into a bowl, and took each boy into the bathroom for a super-quick (and mostly dry!) spongebath. We just lotioned them up really well afterwards. They smelled nice as they were getting their last bottle, but that bath will be really nice tomorrow. Thankfully the water company was right and in about 2 hours the water was back on! Phew!
